For the grocery trade, as for many other industries, e-commerce has been a clearly growing business in recent years and is becoming increasingly important for the major players in the market. But e-commerce also comes with major challenges when it comes to supply, delivery efficiency and quality and with it the importance of good and flexible system support in these critical processes. Rededge helped one of Sweden's largest players to implement new systems to support the investment in increasing e-commerce.

E-commerce was mainly managed by proprietary systems, many of which have become outdated over the years.

The solution for our customer was developed by expanding the use of Oracle's Cloud applications and introducing some new modules including Oracle Order Promising Cloud, Order Management Cloud and Collaboration Messaging. Ocado Smart Platform is used to manage customer orders in the warehouse.

A new modern, cloud-based solution that manages complex rules around stock replenishment and goods management. Control call-offs to your own warehouse or directly to suppliers. Flexible delivery calendars and multiple order stops provide new opportunities to get the right product in the right place at the right time. The system captures correct handling costs related to delivery and freight controlled by rules and configuration, allowing the customer to continue to develop their strategically important business.
