The customer's challenge
The customer's challenge
The client operates in an industry undergoing strong transformation and the management had identified the need to strengthen the innovation culture in the company. The aim was both to find the next golden egg but also to strengthen the identity as an innovative company leading the change in the industry.
Solution
Solution
We developed an idea management concept supported by the customer's existing Office 365 infrastructure where the entire company was invited to come up with ideas to solve both customer needs and internal needs. The concept was based on the principle that the more ideas from as many sources as possible, the greater the likelihood of finding the real golden eggs.
The result
The result
The project resulted in over 250 ideas from most of the organisation which, after both a filtering and selection phase, resulted in 13 identified golden eggs that could strengthen the company's competitiveness. These could be grouped into tactical, strategic and transformative ideas based on how close or far away the idea was from the existing business. These were then submitted to the responsible Implementation Department
Conclusions
Conclusions
Building a culture of innovation requires structure, patience and a long-term approach. Continuous feedback to those who take the time to come up with ideas is a prerequisite. Actively challenging the organisation to dare to think outside the box to get the really transformative ideas is also important, which became clear when the ideas were evaluated and where a clear majority were tactical ideas.
